I got into a trade with another member of CPF that needed a 13 cell 2/3A pack for a tribored 2 D M*g623.
He had a pic but no measurements, so i had to do a littel reverse engeneering.
From the pic i found out that the original builder is LexLuthor and after some searching a pic gave me approximate measurements.
In my days in RC i had seen how cells are soldered directly together (LL spotwelds), so some experimenting took place before the technique was mastered.
I made a brass (hex) cylinder and attached it to a soldertip as seen in the pics.
I pretinned all battery contact surfaces before i started soldering.
5 secs. of heat to the negative of one cell before the other cells positive is brought into contact with the soldertip. Another 5 secs. on both cells and the iron is removed before the cells are brought into contact with each other.
Solderwick was used to connect the cellsticks and AWG18 silicone wire used for the positive and negative contacts.
A little POM turning gave the rest of the hardware.
A C cell M*g tailspring was used for the negative contact with an added brassdisc.
I know the shrink is off but it has been replaced many times after this pic to get it straight and true.
