I've narrowed it down to these two. I'm looking for all around ideal headlamp for use around the camp and night fishing. What are some of the pro's and cons of each. Is there any outdoor shots of these two beam patterns? What would you recommend?

Thanks for your help

I night fish all the time and I use a Seoul modded EOS. The new Rebel EOS sounds like it would make a perfect night fishing headlamp but I have yet to pick one up. The different modes come in very handy and you don't have to cycle through them each time you turn it off. If you don't mind a battery pack on the back of your head, there are brighter options out there. PT has awesome customer service! The newer Black Diamond Spot has had some very good reviews but I have yet to try one. I think I read on here that the plastic is not as durable on the Black Diamond headlamps.

There is a big thread on this some place. I think the Rebel EOS is the best 3xAAA headlamp made but others like the BD Spot. I can't use a unregulated headlamp for winter as they don't allow for lithium. So that kinda takes the Spot out of the running for me.

I'm comparing the old Luxeon 1 Spot vs the Rebel EOS as I don't have the new '08 Cree BD Spot.

EOS +ves:
3 regulated outputs
No PWM
Smooth medium flood beam with reasonable throw
Nice warm tint from rebel led
IPX8 rating
More robust casing
Good spread of output levels
More efficient than Spot

Spot +ves:
lighter
has nice reflectorised beam with good throw and reasonable spill
unregulated
has 5mm leds for low level tasklighting

My personal favourite out of these two is the EOS.
