Beamshot Request: Legend LX vs. Blaster 3

i believe you're right about the Blasters 2 and 3 being the same.

this really gets me excited to receive the light now!

i can't believe it gives out 24 hours of light comparable to that brightness. sheesh.

Blaster on left, Legend on right.

The Blaster uses a High Dome Luxeon and displays the common diamond shaped beam pattern that is a characteristic of that LED and also has a higher color temperature relative to the Legend - hence why it looks green to the camera. I rendered it in B/W as well to help with comparing relative brightness without the tints getting in the way.

Is the Blaster really that green?

Not likely. His camera's white balance probably got confused between the two color extremes, and the darkeness of the rest of the photo.

Note the """ hence why it looks green to the camera""" in my post. When lights are compared to one another the camera has trouble setting the white balance.

If you're using it by itself it looks pure white. If you compare it to other lights, your eyes have the same trouble the camera does and tries to compare the color temp. So side by side with an incandescent and a Nichia White 5mm, it looks slightly greenish, the incandescent looks yellow and Nichia white LEDs look really blue.
