a Doug Ritter RSK MK1. I'm having a hard time deciding.

They both look like really nice knives. The Rukus might be just a little stronger in the handle.

Which one would you guys choose and why?

Thanks.

I have a 556SBK Griptilian which is the same handle as the RSK MK1 but has a slightly different blade shape, and I have both the 610S Rukus and the 615 Mini Rukus.

I personally EDC the 556SBK more than the 610 or 615. In fact, it's in my pocket right now as I'm typing this. The 556SBK is much thinner than the 610 or 615, so it fits in the pocket much better.

My personal EDC percentages are something like:

70% Benchmade 556SBK
20% Buck Bantam BBW or BLW
5% Benchmade 615
2% Benchmade 610
3% Gerber STL 2.0, Buck Bantham BHW, Kershaw ZT 0200, etc.

So, if you want an EDC, I'd say get the RSK MK1. If you want a shelf queen that is cool, I'd say get the 615.

Thanks for the reply.

I had thought of getting the 556 mini grip but in plain blade w/yellow handle but I already have and really like a BM 705 that I EDC most of the time (my work knife). The Ritter I am looking at is the 552 model (probably should have said that) with the slightly longer 3.4" blade. I'll probably use it mostly for going into the woods, camping, light utility, stuff like that. Still, I would like it to be pretty strong in time of need.

Anyway, it probably won't take over my main EDC but I'm sure either one will be a good addition as a backup and slightly heavier duty utility knife.

i think i would go with the 615, with the full metal liner handle. and the long handle should be plenty comfortable to use

You might also want to look at model 707 - Sequel - AXIS lock, 2.95" blade... I switch between that and my mini-Grip, and love both.
 john

Well I went with Griptilian 551 to tide me over since it was such a good deal.

I'll get a 615 next when I save up a little (if I don't see another light I need:laughing:).
