I just bought my first -real- flashlight. A Fenix P2D Q5. Looks like a great light so far, but I must admid, I was expecting more from 180 lumens.
I have a friend with a Browning made light that I believe operates at 90 lumens, off of a Xenon bulb, and a single cr123 battery, and it sure looks brighter than my Fenix LED.

Now, that said, I'm using a CR123 battery bought from RadioShack, the battery advertises that it will bring out the best in my camera...

Do the different types of batteries really matter? Should I look at the surefire ones? What batteries get you the most out of your lights?

Btw, good to be aboard! Nice place you got here:party:

The cheapest good ones are Titanium batteries. 3.7v RCR123 batteries would give you a bit more output but you loose the lower modes.

Is the other light's hotspot brighter? The P2D should beat it in overall output but might not beat it in throw.

Welcome to CPF, Rab!

I'm moving your thread to the batteries section, where it belongs. You will find plenty of other information on batteries there too.

Ah, sorry bout that, I didn't see this section. Thanks:whistle:
