Hello,

I´m planning to build my first Osram Ostar flashlight. Host will be a 2c Mag.

Just wondering what would be the best circuit board/driver to use?

I´m looking to use max 2 C size Li-Ions so input V is max 8.4v.

there are the Shark (Sandwich Shoppe) and the Maxflex (Taskled),
nothing else.

PS: 4- or 6-die?
6 might be difficult from just 2 Li-Ions.

hi,

both (maxflex and shark) can drive a ostar with two lions in series. you have to heatsink the driver a little bit. better is to drive with three or four lions like yellow wrote.
the maxflax have the better user interface, cause there are 5 or 8 (you can setup) brightness modes. with the shark you have only three, but you need the remora board additional to the shark.
my first ostar light also use the shark, but now i prefer the maxflex every time in my lights.

Thank you both.

I was already looking at the Blue Shark, which is suppose to handle heat better and therefore I thought it would handle 2 Li-Ions better.

I will check on the Maxflex tonight.
