Firstly i'm new in this forum and my English isn't very good. If i make big mistakes then please correct me! i'll try to learn from my mistakes :)

I'm searching new torch( i have lost my fenix pd30).
I have some demands:
1)very good throw (far)
2)bigger than fenix pd30
3) price around 200 dollars

I have looked some lights, but i can't choose.

1) dereelight dbs smo - but these are out of stock
2) raidfire spear
3) malkoff m60
and so one...

what would you advise to me?

I'm from Estonia, so it would be good to give the cheapest place to order light.

Best wishes
Madis

I'm sorry that you lost you light :(

Your English is pretty good.

How much throw would you like?
How much do you want illuminated at that distance?

Out of those lights, the Dereelight DBS has a bit more throw then the Rapidfire and both have more throw then the M60.

:welcome:

I would advise.....that you get the Sunlite Eagle 8w. For $150, you get the battery, wall charger, holster, and the brightest - farthest throwing reflector flashlight in it's class.

If you haven't seen it yet, there is a review on it here.

Here is a picture next to the T1.

Welcome to CPF Madis!!:welcome: Here you will find very good info on all types and models of flashlights using the latest in LED technology. I will say, you won't be disappointed with the Eagle 8w. You may not have seen it recommended a lot because it is not well known. About 6 people on this forum have it and every one will vouch for it.

Good luck and happy flashlight hunting!

I'd go with the Dereelight DBS V3. Proven, high quality light with a good company to back it up. I have two:

DBS 3SD SMO R2 running on 1 x 18650

DBS MC-E running on 2 x 18650 with the battery extension tube.

Great lights. You won't be disappointed.

Welcome!!

The DBS is a great light as these guys have said. Excellent craftsmanship and comes with the option of replacing the module with a better emitter when it comes out.
However, if you want the best throwing light, you will do well to get the 8w. According to these pictures from Glenn7, the 8w beats the DBS v2. And may I add, ALL Sunlite flashlight heads are interchangeable so when new ones come out, you can just get the head and you've just upgraded.

Did I mention the 16w far projection head is coming out soon? :sssh:

The DBS is a winner. And you can upgrade in the future if you need. I love being able to switch my pills between the DBS and P60 counterparts.

Gunner12: I haven't lost my hope to find my pd30, there is a little hope, that it is somewhere in my car.
I live in country and the nights are quite dark.
I'm looking pretty good throw to see some animals in fields. Actually the light should have many steps like: low and high. That way i can use it on homeworks as well.

Ryanrpm: it seems quite nice light, but is there going to be out a new light 16w? ou, you mentioned it above.. when will the new version come out? :)

I have reed thist forum about 2 months and now i decided to do my self an account. This looks very friendly and good forum!

Is it possible to order the dereelight dbs mce somewhere in internet? the homepage says that these are slot out? :/

It seems that the 8w and dbs are equal? And quite over the others?

thank you all for answering:)

The MC-E is essentially 4 XR-Es in one package, so would have a wider beam then with a single XR-E LED(4x the emitting area). That along with the lower output per die would give you less throw then with the R2 or Q5 pill. The MC-E will give you lots of output though. The DBS MC-E might still be available here. Shoot him a PM and ask.

The Tiablo A10 also has a lot of throw, more then the DBS, but it is bigger then the DBS, which is bigger then the Eagle 8W.

Good luck with finding the PD30!

You can add one more, got mine last night and I have to say I am impressed, it does have some awsum throw, I put it up against my best small thrower my Streamlight SUPER TAC and the throw is about the same Beam size also comes very close to the Super Tac which is amazing because the Super Tac's reflector is alot larger. The Eagle 8w has a pin point beam tighter than most other lights out there. Great light.

There is no hard date on when the 16w will be released. They are in the final design/testing stage right now. I would guess around a March/April date. I don't work for them, but I do keep in touch by email every so often asking about updates. You guys could too! They are great to talk to.

For those who have the Eagle 8w and another good thrower, I would recommend posting beamshots of the two. I've heard varying testimonies about it equaling or beating the Super-Tac and DBS v2 in throw. Beamshots are very helpful in this area.

And you're welcome....keep the questions coming.

The Eagle 8w has a pin point beam tighter than most other lights out there. Great light.

I might also add to your small review of the 8w that it has a super bright Corona which does make the hotspot seem bigger at longer distances. And, the beam is completely ringless.

so the 8w woulden't be a bad choice? and by the way I found my pd30  it was in my friend's car under the seat :)

but still on will buy myself a little bigger light with more throw :)

Yay! Glad you found the PD30!

The Eagle 8W, DBS, Tiablo A9 and A10, and Rapidfire Spear are all good throwing lights. Check this thread. It doesn't have the Eagle or A10 though.

I agree, you need to make the choice yourself, everyone has their own preferences and the best thing to do is to look at all the information but go with your heart (or your own gut feeling) there is no right or wrong choice.

i think i will choose betweet three lights.
1)raidfire spear - beautiful design
2)dereelight dbs mc-e - not sure that i can order that
3) and the 8w

so lets get more detailed..
there are many differrent models?(r2,q5 a.s.o.) available... so if it is allowed to put some links where I could order these three lights with best price, i would be very happy! :) Should be possible to order from Estonia or send to Estonia! :) Also pealese reccomend best batteryes rechargable would be best!
Then i will choose my favorite...

The Sunlite Eagle 8w Far Projection can be ordered from their website. You have the option of which battery to choose from. They are rechargeable with a port on the Eagle body. The emitter is not able to be changed as these LED's are Application Specific.

The Raidfire Spear can be had from 4Sevens.com. It comes with a textured reflector, not a smooth, so you'll lose some throw with that. I believe it only comes with a Cree Q5 emitter.

The DBS v2/v3...I'm not sure about. I do know that there is several emitter and mode options available. Happy hunting!

Dereelight you can look at Dereelights website. They don't have the MC-E version in stock(I don't think there is a V3 of the DBS). The MC-E version of the DBS will throw less then the other lights because it has a larger emitting area and hence a wider beam.

4sevens has an 8% off coupon, "CPF8".

The best deal and best thrower that you will find is the FENIX TK11 and you dont need to spend $200 this are very good lights and the body construction quality is superb!
