blackburn x series led system upgrades?

hi, thinking about buying the x6 or x8 system from blackburn. was wondering if any one has tried to take it apart or has sucessfully upgraded the led engines?

just wanted to ask here before i went and picked one up...

Sorry, I haven't heard about this kind of update... Maybe somebody done this already but there is no information about that over CPF/MTBr.

it seems a waste of both time and money to buy something only to have to upgrade it immediately,
...... have you considered the Q5 cree Scolo light system from Litemania?
i bought one unit just to try out, it turned out far better than i anticipated,
so ive sent for another, and also a battery and charger...

I replaced the lux 3 in my system x3 with an edison opto LED several months ago. It is brighter. It was no problem to take the bezel off and solder the wires.

Can you post some photos "inside" ?

I'm not sure how to post a picture. If you send me your e-mail address, I'll send you a pic of the light with the bezel unscrewed and the optic out. The star is held down with 2 phillips screws, and you just solder the two wires to the new star.
