These are some of my very first lights, had them for years now. I have had to rebuild one of the battery packs, I think it was the FL7 I don't recall. A search through the archives found very little information from 2003, I was wondering in these more modern times what could I do with these things? Either LED or xenon bulb upgrade.

Any ideas, or even replacement bulbs at least as good as stock?

Thanks!

They were marketed by Smith and Wesson, made by ? I have heard Bell sports was a distributor but who knows. I have a new FL10 battery stick and a good charger but my complete light has gone missing Dammit I loved that light! If anyone has a good head for an FL10 I would like to buy it.

Bah, I just lost a big long reply to this.
To summarize, yes, smith and wesson, 3 and 4 cell sub c packs. Cradle type charger. T1.5 bulbs, glued into reflector. I popped the bulb in my FL7 trying to run it off the FL10, so now I chipped it out and am going to try a streamlight strion bulb. It is either that or the poly stinger bulb, read the strion may look better.

Would probably make a nice host for a LED mod if I knew what I was doing, but space is somewhat limited. 1 inch body, head tapers from 1 inch to roughly 1.75 inches.

Been there. Done that. I now do my posts in Notepad and then copy & paste. Saves a lot of aggrevation.

FL7 is three cells, FL10 is five cells. (3.6v and 5.0v nominal rating) Threads on the FL10 were left handed, to prevent screwing a FL7 head on a FL10 body. But yes, if you disassembled the head and swapped reflector assemblies, you could run the 3.6v lamp on 5.0v for up to what, 3ms?

The FL was not a successful item. I bought a pair of FL10s about three years ago when both models were being dumped by someone at a huge discount. They both still run fine. I liked that they used NiMh cells. Also kind of neat having a light with the S&W logo. Almost wish now I had got the FL7 as well. Although not really much of a collectable item now, I guess they could become so.
