Blown away by the 4Sevens Quark 123 ^2

Today the Quark 123 ^2 Tactical arrived that I ordered. I am truly blown away. I am extremely satisfied.

I have a Surefire 6P that I have dropped a 6P LED bulb assembly into. It is my best light thus far. I also have about 6 different MagLites. Some are LED and some are Incandescent.

I used to be really impressed with the output of the 6P LED. However today just putting it beside the Quark on max power I am floored. The Quark is amazing. The emitter is smaller (I hope I have that term right) and the out put is brighter. It is crazy. I never thought I would think the 6P LED looked dim. It does though, when next to the Quark. Wow. :huh:

Thanks to those of you that recommended it. Now only time will tell how it stands up. It will replace my 6P LED as my EDC light and the 6P LED will now sit on the nightstand as a backup / whatever light.

I didn't know if I could trust the "made in China" 4Sevens CR123 cells so I put Surefire cells in my Quark. Maybe they are all made in China, I don't know.

I will say that in addition to how wonderful this light is, it was also packaged fantastically. I've not seen any lights shipped in stuff like what 4Sevens has. Very awesome. The box was almost mole-skin/suede like matte black stuff.

Went in today to see how he liked it & he wouldn't give it back.:D

Hey, while you're enjoying your new Quark, don't forget that there are a WHOLE bunch of various drop-ins you can still use in your 6p - ranging from LEDs to Incans, from dim to REALLY BRIGHT, from single modes to multi modes - if you feel like upgrading the 6p :)

congrats, an awesome light no question. i received on of the 123^2 Turbos a couple months back and my jaw smacked the ground when i turned it on. it's the only tactical size, unmodded light i've seen that can hold its own against the LX2. and don't sweat the 4sevens cells, they're some of the best you can buy. the AW's are from China and they are w/out rival when it comes to Li ions...China gets a bad rap sometimes but its no different than here, you get what you pay for. if you wanna give your 6P some kick you might look at Thrunite's XP-G dropins...especially the 1.5A. it may have some fitting issues but i've managed to squeeze one in my C2 w/ a sharper reflector and it annihilates even my LX2 or Quark Turbo now.

Good deal, I'm glad to hear it:thumbsup:. And +1 on the 4sevens batteries being of high quality. If I'm not mistaken, they've been tested and the results were posted on CPF. If I remember correctly, the 4sevens tested to be almost as good as the Surefire cells.

It feels good to be so satisfied with a light doesn't it? The Quark is a great light and don't worry about the 4sevens battery's there every bit as good as the Surefire from what I've tested and read. IIRC David at 4sevens searched hard to get a really good performing battery for his light's.

I have the regular one and I think my next purchase from 4sevens will be a tactical or turbo version.

Its addictive, it helps the products are so good.

The Quark 123^2 surprised me too. I have a large collection and lots of very bright lights but it is just so perfect that after I gave it a chance in my pocket I'm not giving it up, in the pocket it stays.

When I ordered my Quark, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had heard all of the good things said about them, but it seemed a little too good to be true. Once I got my Quark 123 running, though, I absolutely loved it.

It is my go to light (behind my D10 :P )

Yes they are great lights for the money, I also have one. Now if you want to get the best combination of runtime, output, and guilt free lumens, run it on rechargeable AW 17670 cells. One cell instead of two and same output with long runtime!

I have put 1400mA (actually about 1500mA @ emitter) to my Quark 123-2 R5:devil:, and it's put in my back pocket everyday:poke:;):D.

Anyway, the chart above has a runtime of a Quark 123-2 on 17670, but the RCR123 runtime is of a Quark 123 light (1xRCR123). Just thought I'd point that out in case someone missed it. The rough calculated runtime is as follows:

Short answer:

17670: 5.5WH/3.33W = 1.65H or about 100 minutes.

2xRCR123: 4WH/3.33W = 1.2H or about 70 minutes.
