I was wondering if anyone had beamshots for the various BOGUSA drop-ins, because I'm not too impressed with the 6PL's LED specs, so I want to get an M2 and put an awesome LED in it. I want something brighter than my P60, but I don't need something as bright as an M4 or something. I want to strike a balence in runtime and brightness, but I'm not sure what Drop-in to get. BOGUSA looks most promising, though…

Thanks much,

Flash_Bang,

From everything I have read on the BOG drop-in LED modules, their "Premium Plus" unit sounds like a good, quality choice. I dont have any experience with their drop-ins yet to speak of.

So far I have found the Malkoff M60 module to be the nicest that I have tried so far. It has the best reflector design of them all by far (deepest). The beam quality and pure white color of the beam is perfect.

I have also tried out the Wolf Eyes HO module which did not work to well in my 9V "frankenlight" that uses a SF M2 bezel with a Leef 3xCR123/2x18500 body. The reflector W.E. uses for this module seems to be designed specifically for one of their own brand lights, and is very shallow when compared to the Malkoff unit.

I dont believe Malkoff Devices has any of the M60 modules in-stock right now, but they are sure to have some soon.

Heres a pic of the light I am using the Malkoff unit in. I am running 3xCR123 lithium "Titanium" brand batteries in it:

okay! thanks guys! I was wondering, also, where did you get the new version M2 bezel? off of a new M2 or what? I think I'll just get an M2 and put a drop-in in it.
TIA,

I got the bezel from Calvin Hall @ BrightFlashLights 352/732-2156 (Florida) He has the best selection, prices, and service on SF stuff. No website, but he is well worth the phonecall!

ETA: I would send Gene Malkoff an email via his website, and ask him when he expects to have more M60's available. He is very responsive to email.

Or sign up for his mailing list - he posts there when a new batch is about to go on sale. (Doh, shouldn't have said that until I get mine!)
