I knew they made excellent knives. But, I was in an "outdoor" store just a few days ago and of course I made my way to the flashlight case. All the usual's there (Streamlight, Surefire (edit), Mag) but one caught my eye....

A light manf. by Boker of all companies?

I asked the clerk if I could see the light and he happily accommodated. First thing I noticed/questioned was the EXCELLENT packaging. I have never ever seen a light so well packaged...

Next thing I noticed was the price - $30 (U.S.D) - Hummmm, yet another flag. You can not find a Boker knife @ $30....

However - the quality of the light; material, heavy duty construction, very bright INCAN bulb (comparable to my Surefire 6P) had me thinking this was a decent light.

I would have taken it home immediately except for one thing; the rear clicky! It was horrible! Recessed below the body of the light and near next to impossible to activate.

Just curious if this is the only light they make? If so, I'll go back and pick it up just for "collection" purposes. Here's a 'generic' link for the same light ( http://www.bestknives.com/bobofl.html )

Anyone with Boker experience?

now why does looks liek a TOP Stryker to me?

Do you have access to the broduct code? Something like ALX*number*etc... that contain 2 and 6?

kosPap, I was going to say the same thing. Kinda like how the Blackhawk lights are rebranded Nuwai's. Except the Stryker has a momentary push button with a twisty tailcap, but LukeB described a clicky.

On a related note, my 'Smith & Wesson 24/7' folding knife I EDC is actually a rebranded Boker. For the $15 I bought it for, it has served me very well every day for the past year and a half. It will be replaced with a Benchmade 525SBK that (I hope) I'm getting for christmas, but I wouldn't hesitate buying another Boker product. For an entry level product, they make pretty nice things.

Don't have access at the moment. Decided I am gonna go pick it up (12/26) and I'll post more info later.

forgive me, I am still a newb at this but after reading your statement above, that is what this light had. Push the rear button for quick on/off or screw in the tailcap completely for constant on.

(i now know that should not be referenced as a "clicky")

I will have to research Top Stryker.....

For a bit lengthy briefing on terminology and other things, you should check out my flashlight guide.

LukeB, it appears that it is indeed a rebranded T.O.P. Stryker. I have 2 of them in nylon, I have no experience with the aluminum model. They are fairly well made, I gave one away after throwing a P60-sized LED dropin in it, and I modified one to take a pressure switch to mount to a shotgun. If you ever feel like upgrading it, I'm not sure that all P60s will fit. I know I had to open up the throat of the light on my nylon one to get an LED dropin to fit.

As already mentioned, top stryker rebadge. Thick walled, and heavy/hefty construction. Although the Strykers don't include a clicky. Normally I prefer twist/momentary/LO caps, but not this case. The Stryker twisty can fall apart(!), the switch pill/gutts will pop right out if you are not careful. They do sell a stryker click switch for around $10.

By recessing the tail cap it allows the light to tail stand. A very useful feature (IMHO) if you want to use it like a candle and ceiling bounce it for area flood. It also protects the switch from impact when dropped.

I am guessing they designed the tail cap this way to help separate it from the Surefire pattented design (merely speculating). I'm guessing that SF would go after them too if it violated a pattent of some sort... (but thats for the other discussion)

The anodize is nice feeling and consistent but it scratches very easily.

It has a lexan window, so its very durable and shatter resistant. Although it will scratch easier than glass. Strangely its a softer grade Lexan than my ROV sportsman (my only other lexan window'd light), so it scratches even easier than other lexan windows.

Still, despite that IMHO its one of the better made Chinese lights. Slightly whiter tint than a Surefire Xenon P60. I like how the bezzel lip is really shallow, this increases flood to the side. It has the most side flood of all my P60 hosts. My review here...

DX LED modules can be modded to fit.

For $30 its a very good light if its B/M available.
