Just ordered my first quality flashlight a Quark AA Tactical. Now my next questions: Which rechargables to get? And will the charger that comes with be sufficient or should I purchase a better one? Thanks again for all the help.

The Sanyo Eneloop is the NiMH rechargeable of choice. Whatever chargers they (Sanyo) pack in with the batteries are quite sufficient.

Hi neighbor! I'm over in York, PA. :grin2:

I plan on using Sanyo Eneloops in my just ordered Quark MiniAA Neutral. I bought a pack, batteries and charger off Amazon and have been very happy.

BUT: If you want to wow your friends get a pair of AW 14500s (even though you are using one at a time get two they're small:) and a charger for twice the light. :candle:

I have 1x18650, 2xAA, 1xAA and all are the regular Quark heads (2xNeutrals and one R2) with tactical switches. With a tightened bezel tap to select turbo or strobe, click to hold, loosen bezel and quickly select lower light levels from low to high, no fiddling with programing.

Eneloops are a favorite around here. I've recently recieved some Imedions that are looking pretty good so far. Be sure to get a quality charger that has independent channels and terminates reliably!

I'm just up the road and visit York occasionally:wave: If you see random beams of light in the night sky to the northwest...it's just me!

Double note on this. Use ONE (1) Li-Ion battery with the Quark low-voltage head (the one you have). Using two will probably destroy it quickly - You have the AA (not the 2aa) so you should be good to go.

Very cool! I've never been over to Shippensburg, but knew some people that went to college there. All of a sudden us central PA people are coming out of the woodwork. lol

Personally I don't like their MQ?06? charger that comes with the Amazon 4xEneloop set. These chargers work with only with 2x or 4x batteries and keep charging ALL the batteries until the last one is done.

The MQN02? (the ones that come with 2xEneloops) are independent channels and will charge the batteries individually. Great smart charger and no chord (great for travel when the chord takes up valuable space) Much better than overcharging the neighbor cell.

I do spend most of my free time and money over in York, like it better than Lancaster. Occasionally get out to around Chambersburg, Michaux State Forest area.
