This is for those of us that live in the US and have a Burger King. Burger King has a promotion campaign for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie.

You buy a drink and certain size french fries and you get a game piece. The game piece has the Autobot and Decepticon logos. You have to choose one and scratch off the silver coating to reveal if you are a winner or not.

I had the great idea to see if my Lights could shine thru the silver coating. sure enough they can. not great but enough to see which side is the one that wins, and the side that doesnt.

I used my modified Seoul P4 Blackhawk Gladius and a 10x magnifying glass. Put the game piece over the lens and fired up the Gladius. look thru my magnifying lens and i could make out just enough to see if it was "winner" or "Please play again"

Now I can play with confidence that i will get free food everytime haha.

You better be careful not to use too powerful of a light--you wouldn't want to catch your gamepiece on fire with an incan hotwire!

Gee, this is about a month too late. I could have towed my 60" carbon arc into the parking lot and cleaned up!

I've used this technique before. Just gotta make sure BK doesn't catch onto this thread!

lovecpf

if they labeled it on the side of a cup you won't have a problem...I've boiled water in paper cups before with no issues:D

i used to do this with the scratchie things in chip packets back when i was in high school, about 10 years ago, i used a 5mw red laser though

That's only if there's water in the cup. If it's empty... :poof:

I did that a while back with another promotion like that. Got quite a few free shakes. Except I used my HID projectors.

Lottery tickets use much denser coatings, and multiple types and layers.
