That would be the Cree XP-G driven in the neighborhood of 20-30mA on an efficacy basis. As you drive harder and get brighter, efficacy goes down.
 
I agree, you can't have both "brightest" and "most efficient" at the same time.

If you specify the wattage, that will make the question answerable.

when that XP-G is a single die, that jump were larger, than the one of the Cree Revolution (Lux to Cree)

I like these numbers, but only time will tell if the new XP-G actually makes more lumens. Will the added lumens created added heat whereby making the potential lumens not likely? If those of you who have looked at MrGman sticky the P7 or MC-E are said to make 700 plus out the front, but in a 3P or 6P size hosts = no way Jose. Not enough heatsink and the single IMR cells sag.

I hope the XP-G gives the added lumens it claims without added heat and if is trully more effiecient it should run cooler..well maybe.:hitit:

@ 80% smaller, I wonder if we won't be seeing some 6 or 8 die stuff come out in the near future? That would make for a fun p60. If I understand this right, that would allow for a brighter light with less heat produced than the current 4 die stuff due to being able to drive each at lower current for better efficiency (maybe even finally break the 500 lumen p60 barrier:twothumbs). Or am I wrong?
