I am going to return it back to walmart because I found the packaging that came with it. Does any one know if they still have the adjustable beam version of the LX?
And why would they switch it to non-switchable /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon8.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rant.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xyxgun.gif?

I understand that it isn't very hard to make a fixed focus LX back into an adjustable focus.

My understanding is a certain 800 pound gorilla company had something to do with making LX and PM6 non focusing.... but I don't know this to be true.

Why would you want another? I made mine into a glovebox light for my sister's (My car really) Town Car. It was too fat and clunky for my taste.

I like the Maxfire 2L better. I still wouldn't carry it (I don't much like rubber sleeves - and both lights look funky/bad without the sleeve) so it is my door pocket light in my truck.

If you gotta have a 2L light that won't explode your wallet, I highly recommend SF G2. Feels GREAT! Lotsa light!

This is an old topic. Unscrew the front glass and remove the reflector. Ther is either a roll pin down by the threads or 2 dimples made with a punch down by the threads.
case1) pull out the roll pin
case2) CAREFULLY with a VERY sharp drill out the dimples about 1/8 inch deep. use a vice and drill press of you have one (Better yet a bridgeport mill.)
Presto fixed.
Make sure to pull batteries and light bulb before performing surgery.
Reassemble light. Enjoy. I did several of these. I have one too. Nice cheap bright small light. PS they eat 123's up in 1 hour. better order a box of a dozen off internet. Walmart gets $6 a piece for them. Internet $1 to $1.25 each.

What? Brinkmann Legend LX's are no longer focusable? I must be behind the times. When did they transition to fixed focus?
