Will any P60 drop in work in this light? I have one laying around the house that I wanted to start using as a mod project.

Yes they should. Ive used 3 different p60 drop ins in the maxfire lx with no problems. I used the older 3 watt from bugout gear, one from DX and my favorite, one from goldengadgets(ebay). The last one is a cree with amazing runtimes and extremely bright. 20.00 shipped.

Yeh ... i just realized it was there. I'll blame it on the meds.:thumbsup:

And I seem to have confused myself again. The Maxfire is the same as the G2, basically, right? So do all G2 drop-in's work or are the G2 and P60 dropins the same?

I bought the DX SKU: 1343 measured 1.055 inches in length with one cone shaped coil spring about 0.65 inches. It was a perfectly fitting drop-in for my Maxfire LX and super bright. Well super bright unknown bin Cree - I can't take the reflector off to get at the star. It lights up stuff that the original blub would not.
