2270 down / 221 up on the server in CA..

Re: Broadband users check your speed and post resu

0 download, 0 upload - minutes ago. It seems that one of the major exchanges between me and CPF experienced a huge outage that lasted for hours.

I'm not sure if it's just where I come from (where failure of the networks I run is absolutely, POSITIVELY, NOT AN OPTION, and how many countless situations I've been in where failure means the End of All Things), but honestly, some of these carriers should know better. I've seen ISP networks built not to fail on the technologies of more than half a decade now, they mean to tell me that it can't be done today?

Re: Broadband users check your speed and post resu

Sitting in a Barnes & Nobel cafe in Savanna GA right now bought 2 hours of internet access for $3.95 on my Mac and getting 1316 down and 544 up

which is actually pretty good. Much better than I get at my house over my DSL line in both directions. But the cable folks have been pulling fiber past my house for the last few months, perhaps a cable modem is in my future /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

3750-3829-3863 down
280-338-67 up

Central Florida Road Runner - now owned by Brighthouse.

PS: Charlie - I ran several test back-to-back and got considerable variation in the results. I don't know that closing inactive browser windows should really matter since they should not be using any bandwidth.

My PC is connected via a wireless router.
These speeds are when neither of my housemates are online.

We're paying for a 3000 / 300 line.
Not sure what's wrong with the upload speed.
(that's using the standard Elk Grove, CA server)

I just did another speed test here:

Is this the fixed wireless service that uses MMDS frequencies and a rooftop antenna?
