KC Man Pleads Guilty to Cyberstalking That Resulted in Murder

A former Kansas City, Mo., man pleaded guilty in federal court today to using a GPS tracking device to surveil another man who was shot to death in a grocery store parking lot.

Ya you got to be careful. If one has been placed on your car and you have an apple device it will tell you your being tracked. If you don't I'm not sure how you would know

What I don't understand is, why they would track the guy to a supermarket parking lot, covered by security cameras from all different angles, to commit a murder? They could have followed this guy anywhere, and waited until an opportune time and place. There was prior planning involved, but they didn't think about this? In this day? These guys had to be stupid, stupid, stupid.

My wife's car says each time you start it that data is being sent to Ford. I don't allow Ford to see my whereabouts in my truck so what does Ford do? They make it so my bluetooth device won't play until I "update" the Sync system.

It's only gonna get worse. Wait until the currency goes 100% digital, and the push for electric cars goes full force. There's already a ton of computer chips in newer vehicles. My company truck for example has a GPS plugged into the OBDII Port. Big corporations know exactly every move I make at my job.

Android can check for trackers also, well, my Samsung S10 can.

In construction there are app's for tracking loads of what-have-you. "Where's the next load of gravel?" "It just made a left onto Mockingbird lane a mile from here".

Various DOT's have traffic cam app's where you can see live through various traffic cameras.

Weird thing happened to me my address is weird if I look at the street sign it says one thing but I'm told that's the wrong street name . Also we don't have mail boxes just P.O. Box . But once I had something that should have been left on porch. But I found it in my P.O. Box . lol I have no idea how they knew my P.O. Box when when I order it I gave street address lol..

We are also cursed with having to use a PO box. I have had time when I order something online and get the message, this item cannot ship to a PO Box. Then the item arrives in my PO Box and the postmaster gets pissed because it was addressed incorrectly.

And who decides what towns get mail delivery and what towns do not?

Consider using duckduckgo.com instead of Google. They're much more privacy oriented.

It does seem to be a worry for most of the world...
BUT- I do not own a smartphone; car has NO connection to anything except Terra Firma (it's a 1986); no wireless connectivity in the home - we're wired to phone and internet. All input devices on my computer are OFF. Location services are OFF.

I am by choice pretty much disconnected from the electronic world, subscribe to exactly ZERO social media, yet I still enjoy being current (TV is over the air, and free) and we subscribe to basically nothing!

Yes, we do get telephone, electric, gas, water, sewer, and trash services. I'm not 'off-grid', but that does have it's attraction!

Stay sharp out there! Be wary about what you 'click.'

OOPS! I guess I don't have any idea how the universe defines it, but I think of this as more of a 'FORUM' for exchange of ideas, and consider things like twitter, facebook, instagram, tiktok, and the hundreds of other 'time-wasters' that demand the attention of 'young folks' who rely on each other for things I consider irrelevant. I consider myself a 'geezer;' pardon my confusion.

As you can see by my 'posts' count, looks like I avoid CPF as well.
