I just purchased a Browning Black Ice today and wanted to post my opinion on this page so people looking for info on these lights can find more info on the browning. I have owned a couple of led lights, nothing special just cheapies. Never owned anything as expensive as a surefire but i really liked these Black Ice lights at Gander Mountain. So, as with everything i ever buy i started doing the research on the net on review pages and forums. I really didn't find much on the Black Ice lights but i played around with them in the store quite a bit and even had the guy get some of the surefire lights out and compared the beam. For the price, when comparing to the surefire, this light is AWESOME!!! The surefire i was comparing the beam with was the Z2 Combatlight and i personally thought the beam from the browning was brighter and more focused, and the browning was $25 less. I purchased the 5131 model 6 volt that has a 1 watt Luxeon Led in it. Total price was $59 after a 10% off they were running on all lights. For batteries it takes two Cr123a lithium batteries. I've seen two different specs as to battery life, it says 8 hours on the back of the package but also says per battery on something else i was looking at so im not sure yet just how long they last. The body of the light is very nice quality and seems to be very durable and the switch works great as well. The other model i was considering was the COAST tac torch 1watt light but i didn't like the fact that it was not waterproof and the browning is.
