As some of you might know, I was recently looking for a replacement TL-3 for one of my friends who lost his. Well, I found one, but I'd like to surprise my buddy by giving him a brighter TL-3 than he has ever seen. So, are there any (commonly available, CPF is common btw) bulbs that could be used in the Streamlight TL-3? switching to rechargeable batteries is no problem.

Thanks!

The TL-3 bulb can run on 2 Li-Ion cells, at least RCR123A (don't know about lower internal resistance cell). I run this bulb in my E2D on 2 RCR123A, but I can't compare to the output on 3 CR123A.

Yep, you can double the output with a Carley H1499 bulb and 2x17500 li-ions. This is what I've been running in my SL TL-3 and it is great.

The only problem is finding the H1499 bulb. Litho123 sells them on CPFMP, but he's been out of them for a long time. I posted asking if there was any other place I could get this bulb, and one of these great CPFrs was nice enough to send me a spare H1499 they had.

I also posted asking if there was an alternative to the H1499 bulb to get similar output in this light, and no one seemed to know of any other equivalent bulb.

Good luck!

Well, the good news is that Carley FINALLY delivered on the custom H1499's. :twothumbs It will take a few days to get all pre-orders shipped out. There will be extras left to sell off.

Great! Because I need one for my TL3. May want one for Auroralite too though I have heard it doesn't fit too well.

I'll take few 1499 bulbs too if there are any left?

I'm actually running the FM1794 superbulb now in my "TL-3", but it's the special FM version that takes 2x18650:s... Crazy bright.

Is this the halogen filled version?

I take it these are bi-pins and will not work with the newer potted version of the TL-3?

I would like a couple of these also, if there are enough left.
Thank you...Sam
