Hi Gang,
I found a Safari Light at a yard sale and I was wondering if anyone knew the batteries that went with it. I can't get the batteries but I figured I may be able to make up my own supply.
Tnx,
Rob

Burgess no longer manufactures batteries, and no other battery manufacturer has added that size, as far as I can tell. Your question is one that often shows up in various forums. I've not seen any answer that would provide you with a battery source.

I have one of these lights too, and the big 69v batteries it uses are apparently not made anymore. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

It has been suggested to me to get a CPFer to make a DC-DC inverter that puts out around 140 volts, runs on NiMH batteries, and can be stuffed up inside the battery chamber (along with the NiMH batteries it runs from) of the lantern.

As far as finding 69 volt batteries for the Safari Light, best I can do is say good luck, and post here if you find any.

Thanks,
this helps. I was thinking about building an inverter to run it of 6D cells.
