Picked up a Cabelas XPG 12 Volt today. Have to say it was worth the $33.00 paid. It comes with a belt holder and 4 duracell 123's. The lamp is a D26 type and the replacement is $18.00. It has a click on click off switch. Advertised lumens are 180. The hot spot reminds me of the Surefire P60 with a near perfect circle but a lot brighter and more spill. It is considerably brighter brighter than a P90 driven by 123's. According to the package the lamp is made in the US and is available at the store. They do sell turbo heads for these at $30.00 at 240 lumens but no replacement lamps are available so I returned it. The body is compatable with Surefire heads and switch's. They do have turbo heads for the 6 volt($20)and 9 volt($23)as well but no replacement lamps for those as well. I am sure a lot you no of this flashlight but some may not.

Deep60sama, you made a great choice. I have a Cabela's 12 volt turbo head on a, four CR123 lithium battery, Leef body. It is second only to my SF M6. It is a very good thrower with very good spill. If you want a good thrower with a wall of light, use the standard 1.25 inch P bezel. The Cabelas flashlights are made by Ultimate light in China. They also make the G&P lights. The Cabela's lights are completely SF compatible and as such, they are a great bargain and a lot of lumens for the dollar. I have never been able to figure out why these lights are not more popular. They are about 220 lumens, to my eye, for one hour. If you want a great "bump in the night light", and cannot afford a SF M4 or M6, these lights are very close in performance. You would have to use the High Output bulbs in the SFs to pull ahead. Try $50 versus $225 to $400 for the SureFires. Also the SFs do not fit into a coat or pants pocket very well. I often carry my 1.25 bezel head "12P" in a coat pocket in the Fall and Winter. I keep the Cabela's Turbo Head light in my brief case. Winter and the DARK are coming, and some of you may wish you had 220 lumens on you, instead of back in the car or back at home. If you ever have to shine a bright light on some "bad guy" at home, I promise you you will wish you had 220 lumens instead of 60-100. A word to the wise is sufficient.

I had the Sportsmans version for awhile this year.

Loved it. I bought the Cabelas high powered head and it screwed right onto the body. The output wasn't much brighter, however. The 4 cr123s
push a lot of light. They sold 1, 2, 3, and 4 battery versions and recalled them all.

After seeing the recall on the lights at Sportsmans for batteries burning up inside I got a full refund on a very used flashlight along with a replacement la that I'd also bought at sportsmans.

A while after, not finding any led cree or anything new at any of the local stores, I started looking for a high powered relatively affordable incan again. Ended up with a Gerber 3 cr123 incan with advertised 150 lumen.
While not as bright as the former 4 battery light, it serves my needs well enough for now.

I wish the local Portland stores would stock some brighter lights like on the inet so I could play with them before buying....

Culhain, The only answer so far is to buy another whole Turbo Head at $30. This is not much more expensive than a SF P91 or M4 or M6 bulb. Maybe if 20 to 50 of us Emailed Cabela's they could figure out how to sell us just the bulb for $10.

if the threads are SF compatible then it should accept a SF Turbohead? Like the one included in a KT1 or KT2 kits... then you could use SF replacement lamps....

though I guess the idea of a budget tactical light goes down the tubes pretty fast when you drop a $100 turbo on the end of it...

I think $20 would be resonable for a replacement lamp. It just seems very wrong to make a product that cannot be seviced.
