Has anyone tried to power one of the 12V Surefire lamp assemblies (MN60, MN61, etc..) using 3 li-ion cells? The li-ion cells are rated at 3.6V but they read at around 4.1-4.2V when they come off the charger.

I saw a post where lemlux ran a MN61 on 2 li-ion + 1 CR123 so I was wondering if anyone has tried running it on 3 li-ions. Is it likely to blow the bulb?

2 @ 68 mm long Li-Ions plus a 123 do work well with the MN61, a 2.3 A LA, but I fear that 3 @ Lions would blow the light.

The MN60 is a lower 1.1 Amp light that pulls higher voltage. It might be only modestly overdriven with 3 @ 50 mm long Li-Ions or it might still blow. (Two 50 mm Li-Ions slightly underdrive the 1.1 A 3-cell LA's)
