Hi,

I've got the Everled, and I am thinking of converting a small Dorcy 2 AA flashlite to use 2 CR123 lithiums instead. Can I do this? I think the total length will be a little long, but I am hoping that the internal spring will take up the difference. I just have to figure out how to file down the internal plastic flanges that hold the batteries. Any thoughts or ideas?

Oh, will this make a difference with the Everled? 6 volts versus 3 volts, and lithiums versus alkalines. Is it worth the trouble, or would I be better off just using AA lithiums?

Thanks for the feedback.

Isn't the diameter of the 123 cell larger than that of the AA? And for sure, it is much shorter.

Ooops, simultaneous posts. You beat me to it, robk.

Not gonna work... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif And to my knowledge, there is no such thing as an AA lithium battery.

3 123 batteries will fit in place of 2 AA's in a Dorcey as long as the ribs are removed. a 5 cell lamp in place of the 2 cell lamp will work. If things stay cool this makes a cheap bright small light.

There are lithium AA batteries. They are about 1.75 volts, amd work great in my Inretech 2AA (1 watt luxeons DD are much brighter on lithium AA cells than alkalines).

Ditto for star and pi's posts. Energizer L91-AA. Lithium AAs. $2.00 from batterystation.com. CPFer price only.
