Can I run a CR2 on a NexGen 650, 750 or 1000? With a couple new CR2 lights in the B/S/T forums I need to make an informed choice about what I want to put into it. Any help is greatly thanked.

(Brighter is better!)

Thanks,

Brian

It probably will not have very long run times. If you are using rechargeables that would be great, but I don't think I would go over 700 myself. I think McGizmo's site has some run time charts with a NG running on a CR2.

Larry: That's 186 degrees? PAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

My thinking is this: I'll have a 650, 750 or 1000 installed with a twostage. I'll use the low as my primary light setting and the high for when I need it...

186? Yikes...

I don't have first hand experience with the NexGen, but I believe TIN has reported that you'll get about an hour on a CR2 with a NG500. I think 650 would be the practical upper limit.

I run my Fire~Fly II (BB 650 LUX III) on a CR2 with no problem. Runtime was 57 minutes to 50% of max brightness. Also run a Vortex KC-1 using a CR2 and got a runtime of 41 minutes with an unknown regulator.

This is looking promising. I am not sure if a NG650 can be made, but I do know that Chop has made a couple Aleph lights with NG667 in them so that is a go.

Thanks.
