Can LED Tints change?

I've always wondered if LED tints change the more you use the flashlight.

My M@gLED 3D's tint changed from purple to pure white, and I'm not exactly sure what happened.
And when I bought my P2D, it didnt look that purple, but now its almost unbearable.

One of my Fenix L1T used to be pure white now it's getting a little green, specially on low mode. I hate it.

One Mag 2D I had was blue when I bought than turned so green I had to change the LED.

Hmm, so it isnt just mine...

I've never had a green tint, always blue or purple.

I've seen a purple Mag, didn't like it. But the worst to me is green, simply awful.

I wonder how much of this is actually a change in the LED's tint and how much is the perception of the user?

I always thought my zebralight H50 had a nice tint until I got the H60 and compared the two. Now my H50 looks greenish.

But to be honest, I am not all that concerned with tint unless it is extremely bothersome and not just something you notice on a white wall.

I've seen Mag LEDs change, but I'm not quite sure about my Fenixes. They seem greener on the lower mode, on high it's neutral. Maybe the new Nitecore D10 R2 cooler tint had something to do with my judgement.

+1. I used to have a RC-G2 modded with a rebel, lovely warm beam, loved it; it was my "to go" light.

And then I compared it to a 5A cree and it instantly turned puke green :green:


Gave it to a friend who loves it....;)

The tint on my wife's E1B has turned green.

It's not just perception because we bought one each at the same time and the difference is very noticeable.

They were both white when we bought them (and mine still is!).
