In general, but I'm also thinking of Lithium like the Energizer E2 batteries. I've decided to stick to AA and AAA batteries. I'm going to buy an Olight T15 which can take advantage of a 14500 battery, but I've decided to avoid batteries that the general public does not use. I thought a compromise would be to use Lithium AA batteries which last a really long time if I leave a flashlight in a car or closet. From what I understand Lithiums should also be slightly brighter.

I use Thomas Distributing these days. Even with shipping charges he is still cheaper. Besides Costco, most our retailers have very large markups.

As an example, when Eneloops first came out I paid about $50 for 8 AAs at The Source (Radio Shack) (couldn't wait, too impatient). My recent order with TD was for a bunch of them on sale around $9/4 AAs.

Needless to say, now I only go to The Source when I have no other choice.

Costco is a good source of kirkland batteries (believed to be rebadged duracell coppertops). I've found memorex brand AA alkalines to have equivalent capacity as duracells in my testing (often found in packs of 50 at various retailers like home outfitters, canadian tire, etc.). Home depot also has decent regular prices on regular duracells. For lithium AA, I found lighthound.com has one of the best prices around.

Incidentally, my Olight T15 is still for sale in CPFM (price now $38, shipping included).

I get my AA alkalines at Costco (Kirkland). They also have Kirkland brand AAA cells now.

Most of my AA Eneloops come from Costco, the rest I got at the Source with their Eneloop close out sales.

I get my Rayovac AA & AAA Hybrids at Wal-Mart.

I have a need for some Lithium AA but refuse to pay $20 for 4.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.

Selfbuilt, though I'm interested in the Olight, I figured I'll get the 2008 version.

What about buying lithium ion cells in Canada like 18650? Cheapest I have found so far are 2xThrunite 3400mAh for $35 shipped from thrunite.com, I paid $56 shipped for 2x Olight 3400mAh from J2.
