Hi all.

This is my first post to the forum. I have lurked for awhile and have acquired some interesting information.

I am in need of some assistance. I have 4 Surefire lights, (6P, 9P, Z2, and E2E). All of them are black except for an E2E given to me as a birthday gift two years ago. It is the HA green color. I would like it to be black like the others.

Is there anyway to accomplish this AND retain the white lettering on the side, (without buying a black E2E, I am already buying an E2D LED)?

I did a search for this last week, for about an hour. I'll be honest and tell you it was overwhelming what came up when I typed in E2E, re anodizing, and permutations thereof.

I'm hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for your help.

Best,

Dave

There's a few CPF'ers that do it...and I'm sure they'd do it if politetly asked...but the cost wouldn't really be beneficial...doing it yourself with out getting hurt or botching the light is pretty hard as well...lemme see if I can find a few threads to show you in the right direction....

EDIT: OK, here's a few threads on anodizing it, but like Chronitus has added, it's not really feasible...trade, or sell your E2E-HA and then buy a E2E-BK in the Marketplace...

Not really. Re-anodizing will fill in the lettering, which will be a black-on-black effect after you're done, unless you then re-engrave... best bet is finding someone who wants to swap a black E2 for a HA-NAT E2.

I've seen some surefires redone in gun-kote and the like, but it also fills the anodizing.

Thanks for your help. Yeah I am NOT a tool guy so that self anodizing option is out the window, and the cost to have it done seems prohibitive. I think your right it will be simpler to sell or swap my E2E for a black E2E. Thanks again.

Best,

Dave

yeahhh.. for that simply sell it. I know it might be hard to look for a black e2e in the US. well I think, I havent done any research.

BUT I do know for a fact that, there are website in england, that sells black e2e. so perhaps u could buy from there but I do warn u the price is high compared to US.

so the best is candle power forum market place, a world with no barrier, no price discrimination etc etc hehe...
