Well, I got bored out in the garage last night so I made a 3X 18650 battery holder for my 3D maglite. I have it set up so the three 18650s are in parallel.

Would it be ok to charge this like one big 18650 or would it be better to charge the cells individually? I ask cause its a little bit more of an effort to disassemble this adapter than just dumping the cells out like a series adapter.

What would be some decent cells and charger? I just used some old ones from a laptop battery for mock up.

Thanks

you can charge them in parallel of course

the CC/CV method allow the parallel charging

for the speed of charge, best to stay at C/3 if you don't know the right state of each cell, but if they are at the same level of degradation, you can push up to 1C

Just keep them together all the time and charge them together. That's what I do with my 1S4P 18650 bike light setup.
