I just bought a 3.5 Million Candle Rechargable light from a local yard sale

It is the same as this http://www.toolsinstock.com/?act=viewProd&productId=693774

Anyone know what type of charger I could charge this with?

I have a universal adapter which can be set at up to 12v

It says that the torch has two 6 v batteries in it.

I also have a car charger from an old torch that takes 12v in and puts out 7.5 v at 600mA could I use this?

If I could could I use the car charger connected to a mains 12volt battery charger?

Hope all the above makes sense and someone can tell me what to do.

Thanks in advance.

It contains a miniature version of a 12 V car battery. Therefore a 12 V trickle charger for car batteries will probably charge it.

Beware however that the batteries in those lights tend to have a limited life and might be worn out by now, so you could find they need replacing. The batteries are 6 V sealed lead acid accumulators (two in series). Look at the rating plate on them and replace them with similar (e.g. 6 V 4 Ah). You will need a kind suitable for deep cycling or they will not last very long.

As above^^, just to add that you can get now AGM batteries in these small sizes, and they totally suitable for deep cycling, and offer vastly better performance than traditional lead acid.

thanks for the advice will try and charge and see what happens.

It only cost £1 ($1.5) so if it does not work I am not going to worry too much.

Thanks again
