MCM Electronics has new Duracell 1800 NiMh (Made in Singapore) AA (1800mAh) and AAA (750mAh) priced very cheap e.g. less than $.85 or $.75. They have free shipping for orders over $50.00

If somebody wants to do a group buy, I will be in for about $10 worth of goods :-)

- Vikas

P.S. I have switched to NiMh for all of my daily use flashlights and use them as much as I could. I feel no guilt in keeping the light on for extended period :-) Unused flashlights or occasional use ones get Alkalines.

MCM Electronics NiMh Deal

Wow, that's one heck of a deal. Any more info on these batteries? I have never seen them mentioned here but even if they turn out to be around 1650mah or so, it would still be a bargain. If it comes to a group buy, I would be very interested. I would only need someone from America to ship to me in Holland.

Btw, the page says Limited quantities., so if there is any interest in a group buy we might want to move fast.

So, who will it be?

I have seen CVS Pharmacy (local drug store chain in USA) carrying those batteries. They looked very good from outside.

I can't seem to locate the coupon for 10% off... I'm going to go for 130 of these batteries if I can find it.

If I locate the coupon, would you sell some of the batteries to me at your cost + shipping?

Thanks,

I found the coupon... third link up from the bottom on the specials page.

Vikas - How many batteries do you want, and please don't tell me that you live in Mongolia or some other impossible to ship to place... e-mail me ASAP, cause I'm getting ready to order. I'll wait an hour or so before firing off my order.

I just got mine in the mail. I bought 32 of the AAs and 32 of the AAAs. Ordered them on the 20th, got them tonight. No shipping charge. Total came to $50.88. I'll start charging in a few minutes. Thanks for the heads up on these. And by the way, they are 1800 mah for the AAs and 750 for the AAAs.

Dang, wish I had noticed this earlier so I could have gotten in on somebody else's order to make the 100+ discount. I don't need to spend $50+ but I would be willing to spend $25 or so (30 AA's). If anybody else is going to order 70 or so batteries we can get the 100 discount, and shipping would be cheaper for me (3.85 for priority mail). I don't know what they charge for shipping though on orders less than $50.

Heads up! on the Panasonic charger.

Bought one of these with 4AA 1600's last year. Plugs directly into wall outlet, and says "5-Hour" on it.

I don't believe this is a "smart" charger - only times charge for 5 hours. I think it can fry batteries that are only partially discharged.

Recently bought "Digital Concepts CH-3900 Microprocessor-Controlled Ultra-Fast NiMH/NiCad Charger" w/4AA batts (1800's) at WalMart for $16.87. Opened package and read instructions in store before purchase. Claims to have dV detection charge cutoff and safety timer. Multi-state LED charge status indication. Charges AA's @ 700mA and AAA's @ 350mA. Comes with 12V car cord also. Only downside so far is 2-4 cell manual switch.

So far - so good. Not a bad price, and 12V portability is a plus for me.

I would like 4AAA + 12AA. According to my calculations, total comes to around $13.00 + shipping. I can paypal via CC account.

Slick,

If your oder is not yet out, please email me at [email protected] I am in Mass, the Mangolia of USA :-)

Spud,

They have handling charge of $3.00 and charge the actual shipping, so it will be close to $10.00 It would be worth to get the order upto $50. I can help about $13 of that if anybody is thinking about putting an order.

About the charger; go for the Rayovac PS4 for $30.00 If you can find $7 off coupon on the charger + battery, that becomes even hotter deal. You could return battery and will effectively end up paying $23 for the charger. And that's the best charger bar new Maha 401 (almost $70 shipped!)

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Vikas, I placed the order yesterday afternoon before I left from my job. I needed to get the order in then because my employer has a secure network that I could access MCM's order site from. I'm too paranoid to send my credit card info over the Internet without an SSL link... Sorry I missed ya, shipping to MA would have been no problem at all..
