Hello all, first post in the budget subforum...

My GF's daughter is going on a school campout and is needing a flashlight. She used to be into pink, but is now in a phase where she likes the color green...

She wants to borrow a torch and has her eye on my green surefire G2. I would prefer to give her something that she could lose without making me cringe however.

So im looking on dealextreme for something "cute" for a teen girl and have found red lights, pink lights, but nothing green. Unfortunately searching for colors on DX doesnt work either...

Basically wondering if anybody has stumbled upon any green-colored torches on dx and can point me in the direction with maybe an sku number?

I might just break down and buy her an Icon Rogue in green, but would like something cheaper if possible.

thanks!

Paint a cheap light green? If it wears off you can always just spray it quick again.

lol, for some reason that thought never even crossed my mind! Good idea though. I may just have to do that. I have never painted anodized aluminum and wonder how good that would actually work... It would surely get her through her camping trip though... hmmm...

wow, that is a fair price!

thats pretty much exactly what im looking for.. thanks for the help!

have you ordered from them? i know pretty much how long it takes to get stuff from DX but Im not sure about this place. Looks like hong kong as well eh?

sorry I haven't ordered from them in a while I don't really remember. I think it's a bit faster since they actually charge you for shipping. They list a coupon though at the top. Fair warning though don't expect too much from this light it puts out around 30-35 lumens. I keep one by my desk for odd jobs. Has a nice floody beam pattern. I like the rubber grip.

too bad she wants green. The fenix E01 and ITP A3 both come in lots of colors but not green.

Plastidip would be neat, but green is hard to find. Maybe you could mix yellow and blue.

Plastidip tends to stick to metal and is really durable. Gives a good comfortable grip, too.

Maybe it could be cheaper, don't know, you will decide (it's a flashy green (3rd in the list)):

Four AA and "plastic" body, like fenix LD40...

OK, i do not contest, but maybe doing a google seach with "kaidomain shallow light" is more compliant with CPF rules. :sssh:
Select the first link in the list of results.
Then, the flashy green is the 4th in the list.

Hope it could help.

DX sell a similar GITD light, but it's 9xLED
SKU 21438
I have no idea how good they are, but if it's anything like sku 1254 then the switch is probably a bit flaky.

Painting anodizing is not as straightforward as just shooting paint. All the colored anodized parts have been sealed so paint will just fall right off. The previous site referred to made it clear only bare anodizing is ready to paint. I know on my flashlights with anodizing they feel almost like a non-stick surface. In order to prep the parts for paint you'd first have to strip the anodizing with oven cleaner. Then you could spray paint the parts.
