Cheapest place for \"N\" cell batteries

Like the title says.........or does anyone sell rechargeable "n" cells?

Re: Cheapest place for \"N\" cell batteries

Don't know if it is the cheapest, but TNC has them. Hope this help.

Edit: Oops, it is sold out at TNC as well.

Re: Cheapest place for \"N\" cell batteries

Yeah, I got my rechargeables from TNC ($2.10 and the N cell adapter for $2.75), and Energizers from Kevin at Batterystation (.75). They are incredibly expensive at RatShack, but I got some for free back when they had that $5 free coupon in the summer.

Look in thier loose cells area for these.
Be warned, These nimh N cells really pack a punch when fully charged.
You can also try using 2/3 AAA nimh, or nicads too. (same size)
I would recommend a Rayovac 3-in-1 D cell charger, or a Vanson Speedbox ( www.amondotech.com ) to charge these.
You will need to fabricate some sort of adaptors for these to get them to fit and charge.
I made some out of a beer can.

In the pics are the Battlepack batteries with thier home made adaptors and an ledlenser v2 powerchip light awaiting it's return of it's fully recharged N cell nimhs.
I put in a 9mm bullet cartridge for size reference.

Thanks for all the info, I took your advice 3rd shift and ordered from Battlepack.

Do you use one of those cartridges as a spacer for your n cells? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xyxgun.gif

Re: Cheapest place for \"N\" cell batteries

Oh goodness no.
The cartridge was for size comparison only.
You will still need to come up with some kind of home-made spacers to get the batteries charged.
What kind of light is getting these N cells anyway?
These Battlepack N cells definitely overdrive any of my ledlenser "coast" lights.

Re: Cheapest place for \"N\" cell batteries

I just bought two Peak "n" cell lights and they are regulated, will it matter with regulation?

I also plan on having them modded.

Re: Cheapest place for \"N\" cell batteries

TnC has great adapters to charge your N cell rechargeables in the AA slot on your charger. I use the Maha 401 with very nice results so far. None of that weird charge each cell different stuff that some have reported.

Regulated is just fine for your battlebot grade rechargeables.
Your lights should perform beautifully. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
