I found this pack on ebay..

[eBay link deleted - DM51]

think it has enough juice to strike an HID up??

or maybe I should hook up 6 16850s, 3 and 3 in series. would I need a balancing circuit?

this is for my dirt bike, I have an HID light on it.. the SLA battery on there weighs too much

He doesn't list a discharge rating and I would be suspicious of someone selling random tat, it looks a little gimmicky to me.
I'd prefer to buy from someone who only sells conventional Li-Po's to the hobby market.

http://cgi.ebay.com/14-8v-4500mAh-1...Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a10222dd0One of the 14.8v 4500mah racecar batteries would be OK I guess (at least that's what I'm hoping to use), cars rev up to around 14volt anyway so it doesn't have to be bang on 12v for HID startup

Bunch of info posted about these batts in another thread. Short answer is: they have a capacity about 1/3 of what they advertise but even more limiting is the 22 or 24 gauge discharge wires. The wires between cells are even smaller, maybe 26 or smaller. I bought one of the 9800 units and the seller told me to never, never discharge over 1 Amp rate.

Buying batteries on eBay is a very risky proposition, and eBay links aren't permitted here anyway.
