Knife rolled to a fail @ 250 slices - A quick wood strop ( some snap crackle and pop ) and it sliced paper again .
6 passes on the 1200 grit wet N dry sharpener and the edge was back ( 3 each way ) , and then some stropping on leather .
How hard is the steel under the black coating ?
10 bananas for a 250 slice roll . It's still value for money . ( $6.70 USD ) It's at the very least as good as a Mora .

There's a conflation here...he's gleeful about the value he is getting, not necessarily about supporting China. Even if it may be an inferior good, for the money, it seems to be a great value.

If anything, you should be confused as to why American companies are going overseas just to boost their profit margins...**and to brag about our low production carbon footprint**

A long time ago ( Decade ) I bought a lot of American Knives . ( A lot ) - When they were affordable !
Now they are collectable and growing in value . And no one is interested in old knives from 20 / 30 or more years ago . Maybe collectors ?

Personally, because many sharpening stones are made in China, and you don't need a $200 stone to touch up an axe... 🙃

What ? U don't use Japanese wet stones ? ( They are expensive too ) Kuromaku Professional Sharpening Stones , hmmmmm Japanese !
