[/ QUOTE ]It should maintain water resistance but it depends on how uniform the VIPs were built across the entire run. I'm guessing that the VIPs are in fact extremely uniform, but have only my own as an example.

As long as the Twisty female mating end is machined to the same spec as the original KC tailcap, then a 3/4" id x 7/8" od x 1/16" thick o-ring should work just fine.
