Just got my light. The box that the light came in has an "Cree XP-G2 R5 15% more lumen" sticker on it.
I originally ordered Option 2 for XPE2 6500k de-dome. The pill appears de-domed. Did you mail me the XPE2
version?

The stock lights came with the XPG2 your box mentioned....he replaced the stock XPG2 LED with the even SMALLER XPE2, as the smaller LED increases throw. (What was in the box has nothing to do with the LED, etc, that you actually get after all the mods)

He then dedomes it. If the LED looks dedomed, then its the XPE2 dedome version.

The XPE2 is a TEEENY TINY LED, and it can be pushed harder than the older XPE,....so, its perfect for a teeeny tiny reflector to maximize throw. The XPG2 is tiny compared to the XML2, but the XPE2 makes the XPG2 look big.

Not sure if this is normal, but low level with imr flickers. All other levels are fine. All levels including low are fine with primary cr123.

Something I noticed. With moonlight on, I no longer have the flicker issue on low(moonlight). I'm really liking the light and the amazing throw on it. It even out-throws my modified E2L with Nichia 219!

OK so apparently Low pulse as I boost too much. If anyone want to please send you light back I can throttle down the boost to eliminate thethe pulse Sorry all. I will cover shipping.

I don't use low much, and if I did need it for a bit, a little flicker would be fine (A candle does that too, etc...) and I'd rather have the ultimate range increase from the boosted version.

Head = tight = turbo or strobe

More D25Cvn V2 are ready for order

- Improve circuitry for perfect reliability
- XPG2 Dedome throw about 2-3K lux less than XPE2 dedome but has much more lumen. Overall a much more impressive light

I thought you tried XPG2 De-dome and it looked really bad?? Whats the difference in Lumen output? I measured 18,000 lux with XPE2, so 15-16,000 lux then with XPG2?

XPG2 Dedome is a FAIL! Greenish tint with throw improvements that can't match a XPE2 6500K De-dome.

XPG2 6500K Dedome throw as good as a XPE2 Dome on at best!

So I am sticking to the options as laid out in post 1.


You guys take my word for it right? NO need for beam shots right?

Have to sand down the centering ring for the best focus with xpg2. New findings...

Also curious on this. I dont want to change mine to xpg2 dedome if it is a bad looking tint. I love the 4000k xpe2 dome on tint
