coast 8406 review?

im looking at buying a coast adjustable focus model, and i have the 8406 in mind, do any of you recommend another coast model or have a 8406 review

For the money, you could do a lot better. In reality, focusing systems aren't very effective or useful (IMO). A nice multi-mode light with a diffuser would be much better, from any one of many quality manufacturers out there... Ie: Fenix, Quark, Nitecore, Jetbeam, etc...

well i have a quark 2x123 tactical coming in the mail, what diffuser should i buy and would it still have a decent throw with the diffuser?

The diffuser will make the beam more like a floodlight than a thrower

ordered a fenix ld10 and a AD401 diffuser, anyone have any beamshots of the ld01 and a diffuser or anything with that diffuser?

Actually that diffuser sucks, I have tried it in my LD10.
You get better diffuser by bying the red filter adapter and replacing the lens with white plastic, works for me.

Also, matte scotch tape works well as a diffuser.
