I noticed that there are several sources now offering new CREE emitters in flux bin Q5 and color bin WG.
I ordered and received one of these supposedly color bin WG emitters which is pretty noticeably a COLD BLUE/PURPLE, which seems to conflict with the very slight WARMER YELLOW to YELLOW/GREEN tint that I think I should be seeing.
I am hoping that someone who bought one of these Q5/WG color bin CREE emitters from a reliable source might comment on the "WG" tint that they received.
The reason that I am concerned is that I HATE BLUISH/PURPLE tint emitters, and specifically ordered the WG tint to avoid getting one.
I think I may have paid for a nice warm Q5/WG and received a lower powered worse tint Q2/WC, because suspiciously, the same source also has a Q2 CREE on an identical star-board, in color bin WC.
I would expect a WC bin CREE to have a tint EXACTLY like the one I received, but wanted to compare notes before demanding that they replace it.
So if you bought a WG tint Q5 could you comment on the tint of the emitter you received?
For the benefit of those who have no clue about all this WG/WC nonsense, here is a marked up color chart with the zones for WG and WC marked (slightly exaggerated, as the real color bins are very close to the center white zone).
Note that there are obviously a lot of other CREE color bins, but these are the ones I am concerned about, so they are the only two I plotted.
