Hey, i have seen some posts of charge/discharge graphs of different battery's, im just wondering what kind of gear people are useing to do this with? i asumme it is a battery charger that interfaces to a computer, where do you get them from and how much do they cost?

Thanks Daniel

I think they mostly come from a CBA battery analyzer, it's a discharge device that records current voltage and temperature while discharging cells and records them onto a computer through a dedicated software program. I think they run $200-300.

Here's the link for the CBAII.

It's $110 but you can get them used for less of course. The previous model, CBA, can be sent it for upgrade to a CBAII (firmware) for $10 + shipping.

I bought my 2 (one at home, one at work for others to use) over in the RCGroups for sale forums for ~$50 each.

+1 This little unit is a lot of bang for the buck. Easy to use and can be set up to work with any battery from n-cell to automotive starting batteries.

Ok, it looks quite good but it only does discharge cycles it would be cool if it could be set to do charge cycles too.. be able to do cc cv charge and just cc to a set voltage etc..

Any ideas on that?

Daniel

I've done similar graphs using a CBL or other lab interface.

You can currently pick up an original CBL for about $30 online. It can monitor three sensors at a time, so you can do temperature (probe included), voltage (probe included, but watch the range) and current (you'll have to buy this probe, or make it).
