Converting a DSD charger into a power pack

I've almost given up on finding 18650 battery holders, but then I took a look at the DSD chargers. It occurs to me that when I need to have several 18650 batteries on a project, I can use the DSD chassis as a holder.

What's even better, I can attach a (complicated) switch with 3 positions: charge, drain in series, and drain in parallel. The DSD charger would then work as a charger and as a power source.

How do I crack open the DSD's case? It seems glued, not screwed...which means I might be screwed.

I've used an older Nokia (1100) car charger as a car adapter for my DSD chargers. Any idea if this is the right voltage?

I have confirmed that Nokia cell phone chargers work fine with DSD chargers. They are 5.2-5.5V DC.

When buying the Nokia cell phone chargers, I had 2 options:
(1) $4.99 each at a dollar store
(2) $25.99 for 50 on eBay.

I took option 2, and have about 40 extra Nokia car chargers that work with DSD chargers. If anyone wants them, let me know. I'll barter.

Also, USB power runs 5.0-5.5V DC. I've got a cable that lets me run my DSD charger off USB power. (I wish I had 5 more.)

Heh, I thought of the Nokia thing as well. I had it lying around and the plugs and volatge looked similar, I thought 'cool! I don't have to use a US>AU adapter!'

I tried the Nokia route.... they might all look similar, but the Nokia chargers don't always plug in properly into the DSD. (Plug is sometimes too long).
