County.com Infinity Ultra-Gs arrived

Three County.com Ultra-Gs arrived Firday. Been playing wth them every chance I get. Love them. Love the finish. All three had LEDs centered close enough that I can't notice any deviation during use. Much more centered than the Gerber Ultra Gs I got form REI a month ago. Gerbers are now allocated to gifts and they will make folks happy because they are certainly fine lights.

My Ultra-Gs "do" have the US Government serial number on them which is just fine with me. The light out put of the Ultra-Gs v.s. the Gerber are for all practical purposes identical. I find it difficult to believe there is any difference other than the great HAIII finish on the Ultra-Gs - but why the better centered LED? Strange since they appear to be identical in every other aspect. Its so nice to get some new lights and "not" be dissapointed in any of them. I must admit that the LED lottery is the only part of my flashlight addiction that I find extremely annoying. I simply can't stand to even have around an inferior light - to the benifit of my friends who receive them as gifts /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think the centering is just a matter of luck. If you're talking about just three ultra-G's having good centering, it doesn't mean much.

Wow, you must have gotten one of the few last remaining lights. Nick at countycomm said they just ran out of Ultra-G and they are GONE. Enjoy your lights.

As far as i know, there are no major differences with the Infinity Ultra (pre gerber). As you said, the main difference is the HA in the Ultra-G and the lack of brand markings.

Dandrop, thanks. I feel lucky, although I should have loaded up on them when they were on sale with free shipping. I really like these lights and I really like County.com. I'm sure I'll do more business with those folks. I'm also starting to get a good feeling for Battery Station and Burlys - and I'm sure I'll be finding/learning about a whole bunch other CPF supporters.

I've put some shine in the dark cord on each which makes them much easier to find both in my pocket and when I set them down.
