I have regular old version and have XT's on the way as gifts. Do you still have to insert the batteries backwards, negative terminal up? If so and you incorrectly insert them, will you blow the LED? And oh, anybody have a flickering problem with the XT's that I and other's have had with the older style?

Thanks, I want to warn my intended recipient's if inserting the batteries wrong can smoke the LED.

geepondy,
I got my official X5T instruction sheet out and all it says is "Insert the batteries with the negative (-) ends toward the lamp module head." No mention or warning of damage if inserted wrong. Mine flickered a little bit the other night and I just took the batteries out and wiped the terminals with a cloth. Also took a pencil eraser to the flashlight terminals. Seems to work fine now. Hope this helps.

Yes, you still have to insert the batteries with the negative end towards the LED head. This is based on the Inova (newer model) i got 4 days ago.

I have inserted batteries backwards in these to test it and it has no problem with reverse polarity. It just doesn't work. Put the batteries back in the right way and it's fine.

Best regards,
Randy
