Peter mentioned something about another new CPF version, this time in a reddish black HA3...

There has been a question about the CPF version being a LS or an AAA based light, but I'm not sure about the outcome...

Hope this helps,

I seem to recall there were 110 of the dark blue Arcs. I only have one, and it`s engraved with the old address to the Torch Reviews Site. So, given that I now have a new domain, I think I need a new CPF Arc I can have engraved with it. Bring on that dark red one!

Oh, and please don`t be a LS. Not that I don`t like them, but they are a bit rich for my blood. Three`s enough for me for now - one of each major step in their life. I don`t think I could afford a special edition Arc LS. I`m still wondering how I¬ll afford the 5 watt one, but I know I must have one....

Here's the link.

There are only 110 units available. We won't get these in again for awhile.

The price is 34.95 and custom engraving is $5 extra (yes, the price was raised on the engraving). Like the LE, the battery compartment has two rings of text. The top has the CPF/custom text and the bottom ring has the Arc Flashlight, etc text.

Please allow 1 week + shipping for the standard text and 3 weeks + shipping for the custom engraved version.

The color of the finish is HA dark blue (I posted pictures in the 2002 thread). The LED is the limited availability B1S white rated at 6800mcd minimum. The B1S has a less blue and more green tint which produces a more white light.

These have the version 3.0 improvements.

B@rt you nearly gave me a heart attack there, you last post caused this to appear in the Last 50 list:

I read that, got up off the floor back onto my chair only to click on the link and find it just related to the last CPF special

Oh well back to begging Peter to do another run then...

There are 109 left. A member bead blasted one to make it aluminium and it took off the engraving.
I'll try to get the scoop on the '03 model at the SHOT show.

What kind of an idiot would do THAT to a CPF Edition Arc?

You can bet he's really, really sorry....who ever he is.

I don't think it was a CPF edition

(Possibly an LE, however)

Maybe someday soon the compassionate Mr. Gransee will grant this "unnamed" individuals tortured soul the rest it has no doubt earned, by giving him a chance for redemption.

But then again, could anyone really blame him if he declined to fill said individuals order for a new CPF Edition ARC AAA, for cause?

I think I sense true penance here, so I hope not!

I take back what I said about him. He is no idiot. He's a visionary, a rebel, a Frontiersman.

Why, I wish I had a set of Arcs in the pure natural aluminum finish. Maybe something like this...

Then again, redish black sounds good too.

How much were the CPF Arc AAAs and how many were made available?

Is it a yearly offering? (PLEASE, PLEASE!

)

Does anyone have a picture that they could post?

Thanks for shedding any "light" on this for me!

Seriously, this caught my attention because I've done the same thing, in both smooth and bead blasted finishes. I like the look, but don't particularly care for the tendency of unfinished aluminum to leave black smudges on things it comes into contact with over long periods of time. I've been using some stuff called "Insulator Wax" lately and it seems to help, at least for a while.

The recent sale of the "grey kits" means there are going to be a lot more of these babies floating around, so maybe the protection issue will get some more attention and a better solution.

Redish black would certainly be unique...

Joe400 - $2,000 for a brass ARC AAA???

Where?

John

$40 sounds like MORE than enough for a CPF edition and dark red has my vote.

$405 for an AAA?
MAYBE if it was made out of titanium with a carbon fiber wrap around the barrel. Bore out the head and put a 70mA underdriven LS in there and a ti case to go with it.
