CR123 long time storage

Is it OK to store, for long periods of time, Surefire CR123 batteries in the plastic tubes used in Olight M-series flashlights ? I have some extra plastic tubes and use them as back ups to the batteries in the flashlights. These tubes have the batteries loaded, but they are not in the actual flashlights.
