cracked dome

hello all,

i just cracked a dome on an installed 1W Q-ranked high dome emitter. The plastic dome is still on, but it has 2 thin cracks running thu it. It still works alright at least in short bursts;
any ideas as to whether it will pop if I run it harder(longer)? Anyone tried something like "crystal glue" (stuff to fix wine glasses for example) to fill in the cracks? Any other suggestions (other than changing it!)?

Yeah. Leave it alone. Things that are working sometimes don't after I fix them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

I concur with Doug S- he knows! I took the dome and phosphor off a "P" and ran it that way for a while on a BB500 just to check out the blue. Old mechanic I know said wrt an old flathead block: "My a** got a crack too- doesn't mean its shot!" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
