I bought the single mode, q5 from DX in hopes to replace my burnt out p60l. Then went ahead and ordered a pair of RCR-16340 from AW.

My problem with the setup is that the light doesn't burn for more than 30min bike riding time. When it does go out, I risk chances of cops harassing me when they I hit the sidewalks. Trust me, some cops will give you a hard enough time if they feel like it. I have to walk the bike when the light dies.

Aside from that, What is wrong with this setup making the battery cut off after 30min of constant burn time? Even with the batteries cooled down, they wont light the flashlight. The volt meter says 3.1v left in each.

What other drop-ins can I get that'll give me at least 2hr without worrying about it dying out on me? Nothing too blindingly bright like the P60L. It's going to be used as a fishing light soon.

A multi mode drop in would give you more runtime if you use it on a lower output and only switch to max when necessary.

i use a 2xAA setup (single mode P4) and i can go for almost 4 hrs (with diminishing output) or 1x18650 set up (P60 host with 3 mode MC-E drop in, max-med-strobe and used on med mostly), carry spare cells too.
