So I just built this today so I can charge my 123's on my hobby charger. Simple enough to make for anyone with some soldering skills and it works remarkably well. I think I'll design my next one with a longer pipe and multiple notches so I can just move one of the brass strips to a different notch for different batteries. I also have a question. My charger can charge from 100ma up to a few amps. I tested it today at 250ma and everything seemed to work good. What would be the best current to charge with?

Hello Thanatos,

Welcome to CPF.

That should work just fine.

Many battery manufacturers suggest that 0.7C is a good charge rate to use. If your cells are 500 mAh, 0.7C would be 350 mA.
