Custom LED lght bulbs

a LED version might already be available

Maybe, but this puppy gives you the option of chooing your own LED (color/power/brand) along with driver rather than trusting some factory in China.

I've been trying to find these things because I've been building my own heads using steel pipe for heat sinks and L2 optics....works and is cheap....but this is a far more elegant solution.

What *I* would do is use them in multiples of three or four, get a cheap length of either 2' or 4' track, and some conventional/cheap but good looking medium base track heads such as these I've been using:

You then power the entire track with a good AC>DC Xitanium negating the power problem.

That would give you a pretty flexible, good looking and powerful LED array for less than $100. Opinions?

I like the idea of the track lighting, but I'm trying to build them so I can use them as drop in replacements in recessed lighting fixtures. I found a couple of decent drivers on deal extreme, now I just need to decide which led to use. Any suggestions? ( I have some experience with HID, but not much with LED's so the whole binning system is a little confusing):twothumbs
